Ipswich’s local gaming store. No matter if you’re a wargamer, model maker, TCG player or boardgamer we should have something that is of interest to you.
We are Ipswich’s local gaming store.
No matter if you’re a wargamer, model maker, trading card collector, or board gamer we should have something that is of interest to you.
We stock a number of lines including Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, Games Workshop, Pokémon, plus a host of board games such as Catan and Pandemic to name a couple.
Matt got into modelling with Airfix kits, but it was HeroQuest in 1990 that really sparked his passion for gaming. He discovered Warhammer in 1993 thanks to a free Space Marine on White Dwarf issue 166 and never looked back.
He became a regular at the Ipswich Games Workshop and joined as a Key Time Staff Member in May 2000 (to quote his manager at the time ‘you’re here every weekend, we may as well pay you for it’), running intro games and events for five years.
Matt was a co-founder SWARMM Wargames and has supported local clubs since 2002, though since 2017 he’s stepped back to focus on the store.
Known mostly for his dice-rolling antics in Blood Bowl leagues and his love of massed ranks of Imperial Guard in 40K. These days, Matt prefers skirmish games (easier to get fully painted!) and painting terrain (he can now drybrush grey in his sleep!).
At Langden Games, Matt handles the behind-the-scenes work like stock ordering and website management (it’s a glamourous life!) he also loves to chat about what people projects people are working on!
Langden Games has a number of characters that you'll see across our website and social media,
here's a bit more about them:
Known initially as Kelee, her original version predates the store, and started life as the team
captain of Matt’s Dark Elf Blood Bowl team, The Heartbreakers. Now she’s known more as
‘Elfie’ and is the Langden Games logo (many thanks to the very talented Elfie from Electric
Elves Desings for bringing her to life!). You’ll see Elfie across the Langden Games site and in store, she even exists in pin badge
and dice form!
Our very own long-suffering Paladin, if you’ve ever played Dungeons & Dragons with Matt,
you will have encountered Mira at some point! Just like Elfie and Daph Mira also predates
the store, if you make a posted website order you might even get a Mira sticker!
Daphne, or Daph for short, is Langden Games roving reporter! Again, she predates the store
and started life as the pitchside reporter in local club Blood Bowl Leagues, and now many
years later is still doing the same!
If you’re part of the store Blood Bowl group you’ll have probably seen posts from her giving
league and event updates, she even Tweets on occasion!
